Its summer time! Which means a nice update to Maryland Weather Center! This season we are making MWC more focused on you, we are introducing some new things that allow you to interact with our website, Facebook, and even Twitter!

New Facebook Logo Preview

• Facebook, Show Off Your Summer! : We are making YOU the featured photographer on our Facebook page. Be sure to take some fun photos of the areas you visit in Maryland this summer and they could become the background behind our flag and name for our Facebook logo, OR be featured on our cover photo. Share them on Facebook to us, send them to info@mymdweather.org, or tweet us with hashtag Tweet #mymdsummer for selection. We hope see what you have to offer!

• Updated Warning Information: You saw it on Friday if you were on Facebook and followed our updates on severe weather, but today we make a formal introduction to our warning and advisory posting system.

It will look like this: “(Warning, Watch, Advisory Information) until (Time) | (Counties Effected) | (Optional Link and/or Effected Areas) #mdwx”

For example: TORNADO WARNING until 12:45p | Frederick | Radar Indicated Rotation | Frederick, Hagerstown #mdwx

OR: Severe T-Storm Wrn until 12:45 | Frederick |  LINK #mdwx

We are hoping that with this new, quick post, that you wont have to hassle with the full NWS statements. If you would like to see the full text, we will most likely attach the link for you to view. • Maryland Weather Network: You have probably seen it up on this site already, but we are making our formal introduction to MWN here, now. Maryland Weather Network is our official affiliate network. We currently have 5 excellent groups in the network spanning out into the US. They include Cirrus Weather (Kansas), Maryland Weather, Foot’s Forecast, and our two newest members to the Network, WV Weather Inc. and ACON.
