The Storm Prediction Center has placed areas in Maryland east of I-95 along with the Delmarva under a slight risk of severe weather with a substantial risk in the Delmarva and in southern Maryland. A stronger cold front will be moving into the warm and moist air we are seeing over the region this afternoon. When the front makes its passage, the chance for damaging winds is substantially high along with a few spotty hail events.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Delmarva and southern Maryland under a 30% risk of damaging winds, meaning that winds within stronger storms could be potential damaging to areas effected with wind gusts exceeding 70mph. A watch is certainly possible going into the afternoon hours. (Josh)
