No Independence From the Humidity

July 4th, Independence Day Forecast | Josh Owens

Today not at all be what the founding fathers felt in 1776 on this historic day. The writer of the declaration, Thomas Jefferson, who was a dedicated weather observer, recorded at high of 76 in Philadelphia according to this WeatherBug article. We, however, 236 years later in the Washington D.C. area, will not be having as nice of temps on this Independence Day. Here is your outlook:

A Heat advisory is active for central and southern Maryland until 9pm this evening and for the Northern Delmarva until 7pm.

Highs will steadily be climbing in to the upper 90s across the entire area as the day wears on and the humidity is back in full swing (of course, some wonder if it even left!) and it will make things feel as if it was in the 100′s!

We do have a chance at some PM thunderstorms today. We hope that they wont effect fireworks displays in the evening, but we cant promise anything and sadly I think some may have the all natural fireworks show.

Have fun today! Drink water and stay safe! Happy 4th of July!

We will be monitoring this as the day progresses and will have updates on MWC Facebook and Twitter.
