Cold front continues its move south and with it comes the rain and big storms. | Josh Owens
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the southern half and parts of the northern half of the state under a slight risk for severe weather. A cold front draped over the northeast will continue make a southerly push through Pennsylvania, and into Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia and to our thick, hot, and humid air. This brings with it a increasing shot a severe potentially dangerous storms across the region. The biggest risk is damaging winds in southern Maryland where SPC has placed a 30% risk area. Any one in the state has a risk of severe storms.
Timing: Areas to the north will begin to see storms around 2-3p and from there the risk moves south. By 4-5 maybe even as late as 6, southern Maryland and the southern Delmarva will begin to see storms.
THIS WILL NOT BE A REPEAT OF THE JUNE 1st SEVERE OUTBREAK OR THE RECENT DERECHO ON JUNE 29.
