Strong to severe storms to pop as a warm front brings the heat back| Josh Owens
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire state under a slight risk for severe weather, portions of northern and western Maryland lie near to the moderate risk posted that spanns from Ohio into the New England states. A warm front lifting through that region is allowing the risk for storms with damaging winds and some hail.
Timing: Starting possibly in the early afternoon in the western and northern parts of the state. Later in the afternoon the more east you are. The risk is not as strong to areas south of DC.
Here are your risk factors:
- Wind: 5/10
- Hail: 3/10
- Tornado: 1/10 (Very low risk, mainly west)
- Watch Issuance: 6/10 (Northern counties would most likely get it before the southern counties)
- MWC Nowcasting: Doubtful | Possible| Likely (Limited coverage from both Mark and as both of us will be busy with planned activities. I will be doing the best I can to funnel warnings your way)
More details and analysis will be available on MWC Facebook
