Scattered Storms Possible, Risk for Strong Storms Grows | Josh Owens, Severe Weather and Short Range Forecaster | UPDATED: 9:33p 10/18/12
Yesterday (Oct 17) the Storm Prediction Center had placed a slight risk of severe weather of the Mid Atlantic region,While the risk was dropper earlier today, it has made a comeback. A SLIGHT RISK for severe weather is now up for all of southern Maryland in addition to Montgomery, PG, and parts of AA.
The primary thing to watch in these storms is now the hail in addition to the wind, gusts near 60 mph are possible. There is a dynamic in the atmosphere set up that a storm could rotate possibly and prompt at tornado warning. We will monitor this.
